CUT AND FILE THE TUBE
1) MARK THE POINT WHERE YOU WANT TO CUT THE TUBE
AND THEN PLACE IT IN THE TUBE CUTTER. (FIG. 6)
- Tighten the tube cutter so that the blade makes slight contact
with the tube.
2) ROTATE THE TUBE CUTTER AROUND THE TUBE IN THE
DIRECTION OF THE ARROW (FIG. 6) and move the blade by
turning the handle slowly.
- Move the blade forwards; the cutter handle should be turned
about an eighth of a turn for each of the three rotations of the
tube cutter.
- If the blade is moved forward too quickly, the tube may be
deformed and incorrectly flanged. (Fig. 7)
- When a tube is used without being cutting beforehand, check
that it is not deformed. (Fig. 7)
3) REMOVE ANY BURRS ON THE CUT END OF THE TUBE WITH
A REAMER. (FIG. 8)
- Keep the cut end facing downwards to prevent any metal
shavings from falling inside the tube.
- If the end has not been correctly filed, the tube cannot be
properly flanged and a gas leak may occur.
- Do not scratch the inner surface of the tube being flanged.
- Any damage or scratches may remain after flanging
