DBE-1200S
Chapter 5: Optical node 1x1 to 3x3
5.1 General installation
If the DBE-1200S optical node is purchased then the inner fibers are already pre-installed inside the tray, including any optional
WDMs, and are connected to the SC/APC connectors.
Powering the node can either be done through the input port or through an external power supply plugged into the socket
inside of the amplifier. There is also an option for local 230 VAC powering available - contact your sales representative for
more information.
5.2 Downstream connection
The DBRX-A-1 can receive wavelengths from 1100 nm to 1610 nm from the headend.
Connect the downstream fiber to an optical power meter and check that the level falls within the operating window of the
optical AGC, from -7 dBm to +1 dBm. Operating in this range guarantees maximum available output power.
When the level is within range, connect the fiber to the WDM or the downstream receiver and the downstream feed will
become active. The more tilt applied in the range up to 12 dB enables more output power. Set the internal attenuators to limit
the output power to the required input level of the product minus the cable loss.
