Thank you for choosing this Team Orion Vortex Servo. This servo is manufac-

tured using the latest developments in servo technology. It is suitable for rac-

ing and for those who require a high quality servo. Replacing the original ser-

vo of your car with one of these servos will noticeably improve its handling.

FEATURES

•  Digital servo

•  Works with 4.8V to 7.4V (Lipo direct, no voltage regulator required)

•  High speed, high torque and low profile versions

•  Dual ball bearings

•  Metal gears

•  Waterproof

•  Durable composite case

•  Aluminum heat sink

DETAILS

The VDS2 HV servos are available in three versions, a high-speed, a high

torque and a low profile version. The high speed servo sacrifices torque for

speed but is still very powerful and is suited for most applications. The high

torque servo is the best choice if you are unsure of the servo power require-

ments of your car or if you don’t need a high speed servo, a higher torque

servo will be more reliable in high load applications. The low profile servo is

designed for 1/10 racing but can also be used in on-road 1/8 cars. These ser-

vos are digital servos, which results in faster response, high-precision and

high standing torque.

APPLICATION

•  High speed version: 1/10 EP/GP

 1/8 EP/GP steering

•  High torque version: 1/8 EP/GP throttle/brake

 Monster trucks

•  Low profile version: 1/10 EP/GP

 1/8 On-Road EP/GP

INSTALLATION

•  Make sure that the servo is safely secured to the car. With nitro cars, you

must use the rubber grommets when installing the servo, these dampen vi-

brations which could, over time, damage the servo.

•  Do not over tighten the screws. Make sure that the servo wires are not ex-

posed and shielded from moving parts which could damage them.

•  The servos use 25T Futaba type servo arms.

•  Once the servos are powered up, you need to adjust your transmitter so

that their neutral l position and movement range are relevant to the car’s

requirement. If the servo setup is wrong, this will overload the servo and

cause it to overheat and become damaged.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

•  These servos draw a lot of power and require a suitable power source, dry

cells are inadequate.

•  You need to use large capacity Nimh batteries or Lipo/Life batteries.

•  Your receiver or ESC might not be able to supply enough power for the ser-

vo to have maximum performance.

TROUBLESHOOTING

•  Servo makes a humming sound: this can happen depending on your car

and transmitter setup.  You can try to change the settings to solve this, but

it may not be able to make it disappear altogether.

•  Servo makes a grinding noise or is locked up: open the servo case and

check that he gears are aligned and in good shape. Gears are available as

spares. You must use a little grease when installing new gears.

•  Servo overheats: the servo will get more or less warm during use depend-

ing on the load. If the servo overheats it will lose performance and may be-

come damaged. Try to modify the settings or use a stronger servo.
