WOOD/BUILDING MATERIAL

MOISTURE METER (MT1902)

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE

USING THE MOISTURE METER.

This instrument can be used to measure the amount of water in the wood,

building material, and measure the environment temperature.

FEATURES:

Display: LCD display.

Measurement range:

         Wood: 6 to 60%

         Building material: 1.5 to 33%

         Temperature: 0 to 50°C ( 32 to 122°F )

Resolution:

         Wood and Building material: 0.1%

         Temperature: 0 .1°C ( 0.1°F)

Accuracy:

Wood and Building material: ± 2%

         Temperature: ± 2°C ( ± 4°F )

8 calibration scales(A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H), based on different types of wood

materials.

Hold function to freeze the measurement.

Low battery indication(< 2.2V).

Automatic Power-Off in 3 minutes without operation.

Power: 2xLR03 AAA 1.5V batteries.

Operating Environment:

          Temperature

0 - 40°C

          Relative Humidity < 85%

INSTALLING BATTERY:

1. Remove the battery compartment cover.

2. Insert the batteries with the correct polarity.

3. Reattach the battery compartment cover.

REMOVING PROTECTIVE CAP:

To remove the protective cap, press the “        ” position and push the cap as

the illustration below to open the cap.

OPERATION INSTRUCTION:

1.Press the “        ” button to turn on the instrument, press and hold the “        ”

button for about 3 seconds to turn off the instrument.

2.Selecting desired Measurement Mode:

a. After turn on the instrument, press the “        ” button to select desired

    measurement mode.

The two measurement modes are as follows:

Wood moisture measurement mode (“WOOD” displays), building material

    moisture measurement mode (“BLDG” displays).

    Wood moisture measurement mode has 8 calibration scales(A, B, C, D, E, F,

G, H), based on different types of wood materials.

Check the Calibration Tables first, and then press the “       ” button to switch

    to the matched calibration scale.

b. After the desired measurement mode is selected, you can start

    measurement.

c.Temperature measurement mode displays in Celsius temperature

measurement mode ( “°C” displays) or Fahrenheit temperature

    measurement mode ( “°F” displays).

    Press “        ” button

to switch between °C and °F.

3.Performing Measurement

   a. For temperature measurement, the display shows the present environment

       temperature directly.

   b. Before taking the first measurement check that the instrument is

       functioning correctly.

For this you will need to use the Test Aid.

On the Test Aid there are two measurement holes as picture.

Switch to Wood moisture measurement mode (“WOOD” displays) and

choose A scale.

Insert the measuring pins into the measurement holes, the measuring

value on the display will show between 16.6% to 20.6%.

The instrument is workable when measured value was in the error range.

c.To perform moisture measurement, press both pins into the wood or

material to be measured, read the value on the display.

  d. Measured value will appear on the LCD, there will a Beep sound when

the measured value greater than a certain value.

     Wood:  ≥16%.

     Building material:  ≥20%.

4.  Freeze the measurement

Press the “        ” button to saved measured value, the “HOLD” will show

on the screen. By pressing the “        ” or “        ” or “        ” button, the

    measuring mode will get reactivated.

5. Automatic Power-Off feature

If you don’t operate the instrument (or the reading does not change) about

3 minutes, the instrument will be turned off automatically.

6.When the symbol “       ” appears, it indicates the batteries are low and

   should be replaced.

MAINTENANCE:

The moisture meter has been designed to be a low maintenance instrument.

However, in order to maintain its performance, you must always follow these

simple directions:

• AVOID exposing the instrument to shock, continuous vibration, or extreme

   hot or cold temperatures.

• ALWAYS attach the protective cap when not in use.

• ALWAYS keep the instrument free of dust and liquids.

• Check the battery regularly to avoid deterioration.

• ALWAYS remove the battery when storing the instrument.

• DO NOT attempt to change any part of the unit.

• DO NOT disassemble the instrument. This will void the warranty.

• Store the instrument in a dry location.

• After measurement, clean the probes and the case using a clean cloth.
