Text messages (SMS)
on PABX systems
You can only receive an SMS if the calling number identification is sent to the PABX
extension (CLIP).
The CLIP of the SMS centre telephone number is evaluated in the telephone.
If your telephone is connected to a PABX, you may have to insert a prefix to the tele-
phone number (this depends on the PABX you use). The prefix can be saved on your
base station (page 108).
If in doubt, test your PABX system by sending an SMS to your own telephone number
after adding the prefix to the SMS centre telephone number. If the SMS does not arrive,
send another one without the prefix.
When you send an SMS, it may be transmitted without your extension number. In this
case, the receiver cannot answer it directly.
You can send and receive SMS messages
on an ISDN PABX system
only via the MSN
number assigned to your base station.
