7 – Mixer
This unit has mixer functions that allow panning and volume
levels to be set for each channel.
Setting the mixer
1. On the
MIXER
page, select the
LVL.
or
PAN
item. (see
“Menu operation procedures” on page 12)
2. Select the item that you want to change and adjust the
value.

Using mid-side microphones
This unit includes a mid-side decoder that allows recording with
mid-side mics and playback of files recorded with them.
1. Connect a mid-side mic to the IN 1 and IN 2 jacks or the IN 3
and IN 4 jacks.
Connect the mid-side mic mid to the IN 1 or IN 3 jack and
the side to the IN 2 or IN 4 jack.
Proper decoding will not be possible if the mid and side are
connected in reverse.

page, select the
MS
item. (see “Menu
operation procedures” on page 12)
3. Set the decoding mode when using a mid-side mic.

decoding for decoding later. Use this mode
to monitor when recording with a mid-side

4. When finished, press the MENU button to return to the
Home Screen.
5. When recording, a decoded signal will be recorded. When
playing back, decoding will occur while playing back.
Adjusting the stereo width
When the
MIXER
page
MS
item is set to
REC
or
MONI
, the
PAN
item changes to the
WIDE
item that allows you to adjust
the width of the sound.
To decode at the input, set the
MS
item to
REC
. To decode
during playback, set it to
MONI
.

, the sound will be 100% mid. The amount of side increases
with the value.
Setting the GANG operation mode
Setting the GANG operation mode allows the control of multiple
knobs (1, 2, 3 and 4) to be linked.
Knobs can be ganged in 2 groups. In each group, the lowest
numbered knob becomes the master and the other knobs
become slaves.
The slaves are linked to operation of the master knob. Operation
of the slave knobs has no effect.

2. Select a channel to turn its GANG operation mode on or off.

NOTE
•
A channel cannot be turned on for both group 1 and group
2 at the same time.
•
If a slave reaches its maximum or minimum value before
the master, the master can still continue to be operated. In
this case, differences in levels are remembered by the unit.
When Master operation is reversed, level differences will be
retained when the slave is operated.
