6.3 Commissioning of radio transmissions (GSM, GPRS, UMTS)
6.3.1
General
Please consider the following listed points at the commissioning of a TAS-Link III in conjunction with radio controlled
paths.
Furthermore, please consider that the receive level is not essential for the question, if a transmission can actually
be executed. In every case a mini SIM (not micro or nano SIM!!!) is required.
6.3.2
GSM
For transmissions via GSM to a NotrufServiceLeitstelle the CSD data service is required inevitably. A report has a
volume of < 1kB. Moreover, the CSD data service is required for the remote servicing via GSM.
6.3.3
GPRS/UMTS
For a transmission via GPRS/UMTS the internet service is required. A remote servicing via these paths is only pos-
sible via TCS (TAS Connection Server).
6.3.3.1
SVC (demand-driven) connection
One report has a volume of <1kB if unencrypted, <2kB if encrypted.
6.3.3.2
SVCP (standing) connection
At an unencrypted GPRS/UMTS connection a data volume of approx. 50Mb/month arises. An encrypted
GPRS/UMTS connection requires approx. 200Mb/month in terms of data volume.

6.3.5
Data volume at IP/GPRS/UMTS for TCS assignment
Due to unknown variables such as amount as well as mode (firmware update, helpdesk etc.) of the remote ac-
cesses, only the arising basic data volume, which is caused by the regular polling, can be defined certainly.
This can be calculated as follows: basic data volume = 150 bytes x amount of devices x amount of pollings
1 polling has a volume of 150 bytes. The amount of devices should be known to the operator and the amount of
pollings result of the configuration (mask "access administration", "polling in s").
