6.2.3  Lead Wiring Options

Tapeswitch edge sensors are normally supplied with one of the following options:

a. (2) 2-conductor cables (see specific edge specifications for identification - may exit OE or EE) – Standard.

b. (1) 2-conductor cable (with appropriate EOL resistor on termination end).

c. (1) 4-conductor cable (special order) - see PRSU/4 or PRSU/5 manual for wire diagram.

Note:

NON – FAIL-SAFE edges are available upon request. These feature a single 2-conductor cable and are
unsuitable for any safety application. Please contact

[email protected]

 for non-fail-safe sensor options.

Non-fail-safe

edges can

NOT

be made

 FAIL-SAFE.

For applications where multiple edge sensors are required, the "EE" (lead exits each end) ordering code must be
specified. This ensures that multiple edges can be connected by daisy-chain since both head and tail connections
are provided. If an “EOL” resistor is warranted, such as in systems employing a PSSR/2, the final edge in the
daisy-chain will only have a single 2-conductor cable, with an internal end-of-line resistor terminating the entire
assembly.

Tapeswitch safety edge sensors are manufactured with the following types of cable configurations:

a)

Two – 2-conductor cable (four termination points) utilizing one of the following configurations below:

PRSU/5 and PSRU/4 connection - Figure 13

i)

Two sets of BLACK/WHITE wires

Or:

ii)

Two sets of black, ribbed/smooth zip-cord wires (one conductor has a ribbed jacked,

one conductor has a smooth jacket).
