HINTS FOR EASY STARTING

Stand the mower on a paved drive or path where the blade is clear of the grass. If you must start on
the lawn, move to an already cut area and/or raise the cutting height. Do not start the mower on a
gravel surface.

Start a warm engine with the control in the START position.

Keep the mower clean underneath

COLD STARTING-AM3010KN

1. Set the engine control to the START position. 

2. Turn the fuel tap to the “ON” position and wait 60 seconds. (Fig. 9A)

3. Push the primer bulb 3 times.

4. POWER START:

Ensure the battery is fully charged.

Stand behind the mower. Hold the top handle firmly with your left hand to hold the mower
stationary. Insert the key into the ignition switch and rotate clockwise to the start position.
Release the key when the engine starts (Fig 9B).

MANUAL START:

Can be used for new season starting or when the Power Start battery is discharged.

Stand behind the mower. Hold the top handle firmly with your left hand to hold the mower
stationary. Grasp the starter rope and pull slowly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.

DO NOT pull the starter rope with a jerk or release the rope when fully extended. Only release
the starter handle when the rope is fully re-wound.

5. If engine fails to start after two attempts press primer bulb again once only and turn key or pull

starter rope again.

6. When engine has warmed up for a short time move the engine control lever to the desired speed

position for cutting.

Turn key to on position.
