46 Operating in trunked mode
Transmit timer
Your radio may have a transmit timer that limits the
amount of time you can transmit continuously.
When the transmit timer is about to expire, the LED
flashes red, and the radio gives three beeps.
If the transmit timer times out, the call clears down.
Call time limit
In trunked mode, the length of your call may be limited
by the network or by your radio.
Placing the radio in
do-not-disturb mode
If you do not want calls for a while, you can place the
radio in do-not-disturb mode, so that incoming calls
can be ignored. You can make outgoing calls in the
usual way.
This mode can be controlled using a function key; or
by assigning a ‘do-not-disturb’ trunking call string to a
preset call entry, selecting it using the scroll keys and
activating it by pressing the PTT.
Using a function key
1
Press the function key programmed for do not
disturb, to activate the do-not-disturb function.
Your radio will now ignore all incoming calls.
2
To deactivate the do-not-disturb function, press
the do-not-disturb function key again.
Activating do-not-disturb mode will result in a
single short beep. Deactivating do-not-disturb
mode will result in a single, short, low-pitched
beep.
