This section describes how to interconnect the units within the Coral IPx Office
system. For a full description of the different system configurations, see
IPx Expansion Unit Installation Configurations, page 6-35
lists the possible different combinations of expansion cages that
can be connected to the IPx Office main unit. Do NOT interconnect any other
combination of expansion units to the main unit.
Two types of cables are used to interconnect units within the IPx Office system:
For connection to the IPx Office expansion unit, an ESIM Office card and an
ESIX Office card is supplied with a cable including a female, 50-pin SCSI
pin-type connector on one end and a female, 50-pin ribbon-type SCSI
connector on the other end. For connection between two expansion units, an
additional ESIX card is supplied with a cable including a female, 50-pin SCSI
pin-type connector on one end and a female, 50-pin ribbon-type SCSI
connector on the other end.
For connection to the IPx 500X or IPx 800X cage, an ESIM Office card is
supplied with a cable including a female, 50-pin, SCSI pin-type connector on
one end and a female, 50-pin D-type connector on the other end. This cable is
not used when IPx Office expansion units are installed.
For connection to the FlexiCom 200 CSLX cabinet, an ESIM Office card is
supplied with a cable including a female, 50-pin, SCSI pin-type connector on
one end and a female, 25-pin, D-type connector on the other end. This cable is
not used when IPx Office expansion units are installed.
