LR3/LR4 Rear Tire Carrier Installation Instructions
Please read all instructions before starting install
1.
Install swing arm onto pivot bracket mounted on bumper. (Make sure there
is at least ½”gap where the swing arm and strike plate come together. The
latch will take up this gap when latched. Adjust latch as necessary using
10mm wrench.)
2.
Slide the carrier into the bracket and put the long 5/8” bolt through and
tighten all bolts on the bracket.
3.
Adjust the latch so when it is closed the swing arm bar is touching on the
underside. If it is not, it will not stay latched. It must have tension when
closed.
4.
Loosen the set screw on the wheel support arm. Set the tire on the lower
tire supports and tip it back onto the three stud bolts. Adjust the height of
the wheel support arm as you go.
5.
Loosely start all 3 lug nuts.
6.
Once all 3 are in place, they can be tightened up.
7.
Tighten the set screw on wheel support arm.
8.
Install the gas shock on the pin.
9.
When closing, hold the carrier closed until the latch is secured in place.
10.
It is very important to fill the bearing housing with grease using the zerk on
the back side of the housing.
