Operating mode button
The operating mode button is used to switch the loud-
speaker output on and off, and to switch the VU meter
display.
Switching the speakers on and off
A brief press on the operating mode button switches the
loudspeakers on and off.
Changing the VU meter display
Repeated long presses on the operating mode button
cycle through the
S10
’s various VU meter displays.

Screen
The screen area of the
S10
consists of two zones: the
top area (VU meter) can display the momentary output
level of the
S10
for checking purposes; the bottom area
(status display) shows the machine’s current mode of
operation by means of LED indicators.
Status display
The following table provides information on the meaning
of the LED indicators in the status display area:
High Current
This LED indicates the
S10
’s high-current mode (see
chapter “High Current / High Power, Back panel
controls”).
PROBLEM
If a problem occurs in the machine, the loud-speaker
cables or the loudspeakers, this LED lights up or is
blinking to warn you of the problem.
Notes on fault-finding can be found in the chapter
entitled “Trouble-shooting”.
LOUDSPEAKER OUTPUT
This LED lights up when the loudspeaker is switched
on.
The LED flashes during the power-on delay, and
when the protective circuit has switched the loud-
speaker off due to a technical problem.
ON / OFF operating mode
This LED lights up when the
S10
is switched on.

AUTOMATIC
This LED lights up when the
S10
is in AUTOMATIC
mode.
In automatic mode the
S10
can be switched on via
R
LINK
control commands from the
P10
pre-amplifier,
via a trigger voltage on the 4-pin XLR socket, or by
the input signal.

VU meter
The purpose of the VU meter is to display and monitor
the modulation of the
S10
.
The following display modes are available:
1.) Momentary value
(fast)
In this mode the display immediately shows the momen-
tary output level.
2.) Average value
(slow)
In this mode the display shows the average output level
for the last three seconds.
3.) Average value with peak indicator
This display is a combination of the slow average display
plus the peak value for the last three seconds.
4.) VU meter off
In this mode the VU meter is switched off.
Note:
The VU-meter shows the momentary value for the
channel with the highest output level.
