Back panel connections
The
P 3100 HV
features complete and consistent channel separation in the signal processing stages (double-mono
construction), and for this reason the input and output sockets are also arranged in strict symmetry relative to the centre
of the machine.

Universal pre-amplifier line inputs for connecting any stereo audio or TV equip-
ment fitted with symmetrical XLR or asymmetrical Cinch outputs.
Caution
The
P 3100 HV
is equipped with symmetrical (XLR) and asymmetrical (Cinch)
sockets for inputs

. For each input only one type of connection
must be used at any one time, i.e. the socket not in use must not be connected
to anything. Your preferred method of connection must be set in the System
Configuration menu; see chapter entitled
‘Basic settings of the P 3100 HV’
In the System Configuration menu it is possible to set input
IN 4 (SRND)
to
separate volume control for use with surround decoders. For more information
please see the chapter entitled
‘Surround operation with the P 3100 HV’
IN 5
General-purpose pre-amplifier input sockets for connecting high-level signal
sources.
This input can be upgraded to form an input for an analogue turntable by fitting
a Phono MM or Phono MC module (optional accessories).
GND
Ground terminal
The ground lead from an analogue disc player is connected here in order to
avoid hum.
IN 6
General-purpose pre-amplifier input sockets for connecting high-level signal
sources.
RECORDER
Input and output sockets for connecting a second device with recording and
playback facilities (recorder).
