Protection circuit
The
Protection
circuit guards against damage caused by short-circuit, over-
heating and overloading. If a problem occurs, the protection circuit switches the
output signal off, the loudspeaker output buttons (
and
) start flashing and
the protection indicator
lights up.
If the amplifier becomes too hot, it should be left to cool down for a protracted
period. Ensure that sufficient cooling air can reach the unit, and wait until it has
cooled to the point where it can be switched on again.
If the Protection indicator
continues to light even after the device has cooled
down, this means that either an overload situation or a short-circuit is present.
In this case please reduce the volume on the amplifier. If the unit is overloaded,
it should be possible to switch it on again after a short period, and the buttons
should then cease to flash. If the amplifier cannot be switched on again after
this time, there could be a short-circuit in the loudspeaker cables. In this case
switch the machine off, and check the wiring of the equipment and
loudspeakers.
