Chapter 2: Hardware Setup

Press the power button on the front panel to power on your FS6400. The expansion unit ID of RX1217sas/

RX2417sas connected to FS6400 will be displayed in sequence on the back panel.

Start up Your Synology NAS

To start up your FS6400:

1

Connect one end of each power cord to the power ports located on the back of the FS6400 and the other end

to a power outlet.

Connect at least one LAN cable to one of the LAN ports and the other end to your switch, router, or hub.

Press the power button to turn on the FS6400.

Congratulations! Your Synology NAS is now online and detectable from a network computer.
