Chapter 2: Hardware Setup
Install Memory Modules
You must install genuine Synology memory module(s) to ensure system compatibility and reliability. Here shows
the memory slot configuration. When upgrading your memory capacity, install memory modules from slot A0 and
D0 first.
Follow the steps below to install, check, or remove a memory module on your FS6400.
To install the RAM module:

Shut down your FS6400. Disconnect all cables connected to your FS6400 to prevent any possible damage.
2 Remove the rear top cover.
a Remove the screw on the back of FS6400.

Pull the rear top cover, and put it aside.

Note: When you remove the rear top cover, the sensitive internal components are exposed. Avoid touching anything
other than the memory assembly when you remove or add memory.
