Chapter 4 Provisioning

Managing the User Access List

Logging In

Use the following procedure to log in to the system at the admin level.

1. Ensure that the TimeProvider 2300/2700 is connected to a LAN, or directly

connected to a computer through the EIA-232 serial port. See

Communications

Connections

, on page 50.

2. If the TimeProvider 2300/2700 is connected to a LAN, Telnet or SSH from your

computer to the assigned IP address.

If the TimeProvider 2300/2700 is connected to a computer directly through the
serial port, start a Terminal session and press

Enter

3. Type your user name and press

Enter

. The system prompts for a password.

4. Type your password and press

Enter

. The system prompt appears.

Note:

The telnet firewall is set to Block by default. Use the following

command to set the TP 2300/2700 firewall to Allow for telnet
communications:

set firewall mgmt telnet allow

Note:

The default user name is “admin” and the default password is:

symmadmin**.

To avoid unauthorized access, you should change the default
password.
