MS XX07 Series Integration Guide

USB Ignore Unknown Characters

This option applies only to the HID Keyboard Emulation device and IBM device. Unknown 
characters are characters the host does not recognize. Select 

Send Bar Codes With 

Unknown Characters

 to send all bar code data except for unknown characters. No error 

beeps sound. When 

Do Not Send Bar Codes With Unknown Characters

 is selected, bar 

codes containing at least one unknown character are not sent to the host, and an error beep 
sounds.
