Troubleshooting

the telephone number.

Optional accessories include various stands and holders, which are supplied at extra cost.
Additional units of standard accessories may also be purchased at extra cost.

Problem
Possible Solutions
Nothing happens when you follow
the operating instructions.
Check the system power. Ensure there is a charged
battery in the battery box, or the power supply is
connected if your configuration requires a power
supply.
Be sure the scanner is programmed for the terminal in
use.
Make sure the scanner is programmed to read the type
of bar code you are scanning.
Check for loose cable connections.
Check the symbol to make sure it is not defaced.
Try scanning test symbols of the same code type.
Symbol is decoded, but not
transmitted to the host terminal.
Be sure the proper host type is selected (See Chapter 5).
Scanned data is incorrectly
displayed on the terminal.
For a keyboard wedge configuration, ensure the system
is programmed for the correct keyboard type, and the
CAPS LOCK key is off.
For an RS-232 configuration, ensure the scanner’s
communication parameters match the host terminal’s
settings.
Be sure the proper host is selected.
Be sure editing options (e.g., UPC-E to UPC-A
Conversion) are properly programmed.
