Content Filtering Advanced Restrictions tab—URL dialog box
The URL dialog box lets you specify the URL to be added to the allow or deny list.

The URL Pattern dialog box lets you enter a regular expression that represents a URL pattern.

File Extensions
Lists file extensions that identify files that are controlled by the content filtering
features.
Use the Available and Selected lists, as follows:
■
The Available list displays file extensions that have been defined for use with
content filtering.
You can modify the Available list by adding or deleting file extensions.
■
The Selected list is populated by moving file extensions from the Available list.
When you apply file extension restrictions to a rule, the security gateway allows or
denies download of files with the file extensions in this list.
Select one of the following actions for the security gateway to take with regard to these
file extensions:
■
Allow
Permits users to download only files with extensions in the Selected list.
■
Deny
■
Permits users to download all files except those with extensions in the Selected list.

URL
Lets you type the URL that you want to add to the URLs list.
The URL must start with a protocol, and can be a domain name or an IP address.
You can use the wildcard * before or after the URL name portion of the address.
For example, http://*.symantecdomain.com/*
