Defining your security environment
Controlling full application inspection of traffic
To enable socket linger

In the SGMI, in the left pane, under Assets, click
Proxies
.

In the right pane, on the Proxies tab, click the H.323 proxy, and then click
Properties
.

In the Proxy Properties dialog box, on the Miscellaneous tab, check
Enable socket linger
.

Click
OK
.

Optionally, do one of the following:

To save your configuration now and activate later, on the toolbar, click
Save
.

To activate your configuration now, on the toolbar, click
Activate
.
When prompted to save your changes, click
Yes
.

Enabling tracing
When troubleshooting H.323 connections, you can configure the security gateway to create a separate
log file for H.323 connections only. You may want to do this if you want to track what is happening to
H.323 packets as they pass through the security gateway, or you might simply want an audit trail for
all H.323 connections.
Note:
The H.323 trace file is normally written to /var/log/sg/h323d.log.

Controlling Web traffic
The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application-level protocol used to control Web traffic,
relies on existing underlying communication protocols for distributed, collaborative, hyper-media
information systems. It is a generic, stateless, object-oriented protocol which can be used for many
tasks, such as name servers and distributed object management systems, through extension of its
request methods (commands).
