Configuring administrator settings
Configuring administrator settings
The following types of administrator accounts can be set in Symantec Mail
Security for SMTP:

Administrator: Oversees administration of Symantec Mail Security for
SMTP
■
Report-only administrator: Has privileges only to run reports on Symantec
Mail Security for SMTP
Note:
The report-only administrator password must be different from that of the
administrator.
Configure administrator settings
Table 3-1 describes the administrator settings that you can configure through
the administrative interface.

Setting Description
Administrator password The administrator password is set during installation and
can be changed through the administrative interface.
Report-only
administrator password The report-only administrator password can be set only
through the administrative interface.
Administrator timeout The administrator timeout applies to both the administrator
and the report-only administrator accounts.
Administrator email
addresses for
notifications and alerts You can specify the addresses to which notifications and
alerts are sent when policy violations occur.
