. You will be directly con-
nected to the Swisscom Contact Centre.
The access number is pre-programmed as
0800 800 800 cannot be changed.
Correcting incorrect entries
You can correct incorrect characters in the
text by navigating to the incorrect entry
using the control key. You can then:
u
press
X
to delete the character to the
left of the cursor,
u
insert characters to the left of the cur-
sor,
u
overwrite the (flashing) character
when entering the time and date etc.
Eco range
Eco range reduces power consumption by
using a mains adapter with low power
consumption and also reduces the trans-
mission power of the base station.
This can be set
manually
via your hand-
set. Several handsets can be used simulta-
neously.
Your handset also reduces the transmis-
sion power depending on the distance to
the base station.

Setting up the base station –
installation assistant
A few settings are needed before you start
using your telephone. The installation
assistant is designed to help you with this.
If you place the first handset in the charg-
ing cradle before the MSN settings have
been entered, the message key begins to
flash after around 20 minutes (page 1).

to start the
installation assistant.
You can also call up the installation assist-
ant at any time from your handset
(page 14).
The following settings can be made one
after the other.

What is an MSN?
MSN = Multiple Subscriber Number. You
can request up to 10 different telephone
numbers for the ISDN multiple connec-
tion. An MSN is one of the
phone num-
bers assigned to you without an area
code
(dialling code).

Please note:
– Activating eco range reduces the range of
the base station.
– Eco range and any repeater support (see
page 57) cancel each other out, i.e. both
functions cannot be used at the same time.
– If external handsets (GAP) and handsets
from earlier versions are used, your hand-
set will
not
automatically reduce the trans-
mission power to the base station.
