ENGINE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
ENGINE REMOVAL
Before taking the engine out of the frame, wash the engine
using a steam cleaner. Engine removal is sequentially explained
in the following steps. Reinstall the engine by reversing the
removal procedure.
• Drain engine oil. (

• Drain engine coolant. (

• Remove the seat. (

• Disconnect the battery lead wires.
• Remove the battery.

• Remove the fuel tank covers. (

• Remove the mud guard. (L&R) (

• Remove the rear carrier and rear fender. (

• Remove the fuel tank. (

• Remove the right inner fender. (

7-6)
• Disconnect the water hoses.
When disconnecting the lead wires, be sure to discon-
nect the

battery lead wire first.
