ENGINE OIL
Engine life depends on oil a mount
a nd qu a lity. D a ily oil level checks
a nd periodic ch a nges a re two of
the most import a nt m a inten a nce
items to be performed.
En g ine Oil Level Check
Check the engine oil level a s fol-
lows:
1. Pl
a ce the motorcycle on level
ground on the side st a nd.
2. S t a rt the engine a nd a llow it to
idle for three minutes.
3 . S top the engine a nd w a it three
minutes.
4. Hold the motorcycle vertic a lly
a nd check the oil level through
the oil level inspection window
on the right side of the engine.
The engine oil level should be
between the “L” (low)
a nd the
“F” (full) lines.

Place the motorcycle on level
g round. Check the oil level with
the en g ine oil in s pection win-
dow before each u s e of the
vehicle. Be s ure the en g ine oil
level i s alway s above the “L”
(low) line and not hi g her than
the “F” (full) line.
