6. Tighten the a xle nut

securely.
7. Recheck the ch a in sl a ck a fter
tightening a nd re a djust if nec-
ess a ry.
8. Tighten the right a nd left lock
nuts

Re a r a xle nut tightening torque:
100 N·m (10.0 kgf-m, 72.5 lbf-ft)
NOTE: Do not adjust the drive
chain beyond the adjustable
range

. Replace the drive chain
before the drive chain exceeds
the limit.
BRAKE S

NOTE: Operating in mud, water,
sand or other extreme conditions
can cause accelerated brake
wear. If you operate your motorcy-
cle under these conditions, the
brakes must be inspected more
often than recommended in the
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE.
Brake Ho s e In s pection
Inspect the br a ke hoses a nd hose
joints for cr a cks, d a m a ge or br a ke
fluid le a k a ge. If a ny defects a re
found, a sk your S uzuki de a ler to
repl a ce the br a ke hose with a new
one.

