6-4 Installing the Air Shroud
Air shrouds concentrate air fl ow to maximize fan ef fi ciency. The SC213 chassis air
shroud does not require screws for installation.
Installing the Air Shroud in the Chassis (Figure 6-4)
1. Lay the chassis on a fl at, stable surface and remove the chassis cover.
2. Ensure that the motherboard, CPU, heatsink and memory are all properly
installed.
3. Remove the left side break-away piece of the main air shroud.
4. Slide the additional air shroud into the chassis before installing the main air
shroud.
5. Install the main air shroud in the chassis. The air shroud fi ts just behind the
three fans in the fan rack. Slide the air shroud into the grooves just behind
the fan rack (Figure 6-4).
Note that some motherboards may require the air shroud to be modi
fi ed to
fi t over the motherboard. The SC213 chassis air shroud is designed with
break-away pieces that may be removed to accomodate differing styles of
motherboards.
