1.4 Server Chassis Features
Control Panel
The switches and LEDs located on the control panel are described below. See Chapter 4 for
details on the control panel connections.

Power LED
Indicates power is being supplied to the system power supply. This LED should
normally be illuminated when the system is operating.

HDD LED
Indicates activity on a hard drive when flashing.

LAN1/LAN2 LED
Indicates network activity on the LAN1/LAN2 port when flashing

Information LED
See table below for the various indications given by the information LED

Power Button
The main power button is used to apply or remove power from the power
supply. Turning off system power with this button removes the main power but
maintains standby power. To perform many maintenance tasks, you must also
unplug the AC power cord before servicing

Reset Button
The reset button is used to reboot the system
7
UID Button
The UID (unit ID) button is used to turn on or off the blue U-LED. This LED is
activated to easily locate the server in racks and server banks
