Menu Option
Description
Serial Port1 Address
This option specifies the base I/O port address and the Interrupt Request
address of Serial Port 1. Select Disabled to prevent the serial port from
accessing any system resources. When this option is Disabled, the serial port
physically becomes unavailable. Select
3F8/IRQ4
to allow the serial port to use
3F8 as its I/O port address and IRQ 4 for its interrupt address. Options are
Disabled,
3F8/IRQ4
, , 2F8/IRQ3, 3E8/IRQ4 and 2E8/IRQ3.
Serial Port2 Address
Same as above, but the options are Disabled, 3F8/IRQ4,
2F8/IRQ3
, 3E8/IRQ4
and 2E8/IRQ3.
Serial Port2 Attribute
This setting allows you to set COM2 as a normal serial port or as a virtual COM
port for SOL. Options are
SOL
or COM.

Menu Option
Description
Remote Access
This option allows you to select your remote access type. Options include
Enabled
and Disabled.
Serial Port Number
This option allows you to select a serial port for console redirection if the
selected port is enabled. Options include COM1 and
COM2*
. Note: SOL will be
enabled on this port when a BMC is present on the motherboard.
Serial Port Mode
Use this option to select the serial port mode setting. Options include

Flow Control
This option allows you to select Flow Control for redirection. Options include

, Hardware or Software.
Redirection After
BIOS POST
This option allows you to specify redirection after BIOS POST. Options include
the following:
• Disable – Turns off the redirection after POST
• Boot Loader – Redirection is active during Boot Loader
•
Always
– Redirection is always active.
NOTE:
Some operating systems may not work if set to

Terminal Type
This option allows you to select the Terminal Type for your system. Options
include ANSI,
VT100
and VT-UTF8.
VT-UTF8 Combo Key
Support
Use this option to enable VT-UTF8 Combination Key support for ANSI/VT100
terminals. Options include
Enabled
and Disabled.
Sredir Memory
Display Delay
This option gives the delay in seconds to display memory information. Options
include

Delay
, Delay in 1 Sec, Delay in 2 Sec and Delay in 4 Sec.
