Configure the following:
TEI
The TEI number identifies the terminal to which the message is
intended. Manually select a Terminal Endpoint Identifier or have
the test set auto-configure one during turn-up.
• AUTO (F1): The test set automatically identifies the Layer 2 TEI.
In this mode the test set sends an Identity Request message
with TEI:127 and Action Indicator: 127. The switch responds
with an Identity Assigned with TEI:127 and Action Indicator
from 64-126. Then, the test set transmits a SABME with a TEI
of the same value as the received Action Indicator.
• INC+1 (F2), DEC-1 (F3), 1/10 (F4): Allows manual entry of the
TEI value in the range of 0 to 127. The 1/10 key determines
the increase/decrease factor. In this case, the test set will
send a SABME with the TEI set. If the switch accepts the TEI,
it responds with a UA with the same TEI.
Note: DMS switches require a fixed TEI value for X.25.
ECHO MODE
Options: OFF (F1), ON (F2)
When set for ON, the test set will loop back the incoming data.
