SSxDSL-5 IDSL Module
The following setup items only pertain to an SVC call:
CUG (0-9999)
Options: NONE (F1), NUMBER (F2)
Enter a number to include the test set in a particular Closed User
Group or leave blank. The CUG creates a private network which
restricts communication between members and nonmembers. By
entering a number in this line, a call to another member within the
specified CUG can be placed.
RPOA (0-9999)
Options: NONE (F1), NUMBER (F2)
Specify a Recognized Private Operating Agency network through
which the D-channel packet calls will be routed.
REVERSE CHARGE
Options: OFF (F1), ON (F2)
This field determines whether the test set requests reverse charg-
ing for its outgoing D-channel packet calls. This is used for collect
calling, where the billing is assigned to the receiver of the call.
CALL USER DATA
Enter up to 12/16 digits of user data to be included in the Call
Request message. The test set adds 4 predefined digits to the be-
ginning of the user data, when the PAD setting has been enabled
in OTHER SETUP. When PAD is off, enter up to 16 digits.
DIAL NUM
Options: RESTART (F1), CALL (F2), SND PH# (F3), RESET
(more, F1), CLEAR (more, F2), SND MSG (more, F3)
Enter a number to call up to 15 digits and then press:
• RESTART: Clears all SVCs. This affects all logical channels.
All incoming and outgoing calls for that DTE will be cleared.
After pressing, “Sending Restart Request” and then “Restart
Confirmed” messages are displayed.
• CALL: Places the call and the test set sends a Call Request
packet to establish a connection. “Establishing link” followed
by “Out call connected” are displayed.
• SND PH#: Send the phone number and area code configured
in TEST CONFIGURATION as a data packet.
• RESET: Sends a Reset Request Packet that resets the packet
sequence count, the sent, P(S) and received P(R) to 0.
• CLEAR: Send a Clear Request packet to disconnect a call. This
disconnects the SVC call identified in the selected LCN.
• SND MSG: Send a data packet. Two different data packets are
sent each time SND MSG is pressed; “The quick brown fox
jumps over the lazy dog” and “SUNRISE TELECOM A step
ahead!”.
