Over bed pole

The over bed pole is an aid for people, who cannot sit up in or stand up from bed safely without assistance.
Residual forces of the upper body and the arms are required.
Technical Requirements:
The over bed pole can only be used for beds with open underframe, not for closed
headboards!
Indication:
Bedridden patients, restriction of the lower extremities
Contraindication:
back injury, apoplexy, hemiplegia, instable (vertebral) injuries
Description:
The over bed pole is used to sit up in bed without help, to raise the buttock for using a bed pan, to turn
over in a wheelchair or toilet chair etc. The product must only get into contact with intact, unwounded skin. Other
applications than those listed are considered not to be in accordance with the intended use and are not permitted.
Unauthorized modifications, incorrect usage and incorrect installation exempt the manufacturer from liability for any
damages resulting therefrom.
Before use / maintenance:
Before each use the caregiver has to check the correct fitting of the strap.
Please check all parts for (shipping) damage by visual inspection before first and every use. Movable parts must be
regularly checked for smooth function. At least monthly review of the bed pole, especially welding seams and handle.
Regular check of the belt strap, defective parts have to be replaced immediately. Replacement at the latest after 5 years.
Before each use, check that the strap and handle are firmly installed and undamaged!
Usage:

The over bed pole has to be placed detached at the end of the head of the bed. The carrying arm must be placed
parallel to the bed.
►
Before each use the caregiver has to check the correct fitting of the strap.
►
The handle has to be adjusted to the appropriate height, it should be installed at the height of your chin / chest
while sitting.
►
The over bed pole must only be loaded vertically.
►
Do not move from side to side, tipping hazard!
►
To turn over in a wheelchair or toilet chair a caregiver must provide assistance to the patient.
Cleaning / disinfection:
All parts are best cleaned with a damp cloth, using mild detergents. Do not use any abrasive
or sharp objects or cleaning supplies. For the care of the plastic parts we recommend a special plastic cleanser. The bed
pole can be disinfected with a commercial, chlorine-free disinfectant.
Important:
When using disinfectants, the
instructions for use of the manufacturer must be observed.
Handle and strap have to be replaced in every re-use /
change of patient!

nformation for re-use:
the over bed pole must be cleaned and subjected to maintenance each time before re-using,
the MPG guidelines (Medical Devices Directives) are to be complied with. Cleaning should be carried out in accordance
with the guidelines from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for hospital hygiene and the prevention of infection.
Maintenance:
Monthly review of the bed pole, especially welding seams and handle.
Please check the belt strap regularly, defective parts have to be replaced immediately.

Please check the traction of strap and handle strongly before using the bed pole

Note the maximum load / traction (120 kg).

Do not move from side to side, tipping hazard!

The bed pole must be placed parallel to the bed, not crosswise!

Assembly only as shown!

The bed pole must only be used on flat ground!
►
If parts are warped, have cracks or deformations, the bed pole must not be use any longer!
►
The bed pole is no toy! Do not leave children unattended with the bed pole!
►
Transportation only dissassambled!
►
Do not fix other things or objects at the over bed pole!
Warranty:
According to the statutory warranty claims. Excluded from the guarantee are defects resulting out of natural
wear and tear, intent, negligence or improper handling or use and defects which affect the value or usability of the tool
only insignificantly. We reserve the right of modifications serving the technical improvement.
