Preface
This book is intended for those persons using the T10000 tape drive after it has been
installed. It also provides information about the various cartridges and their labels.
Organization
The organization of this guide is:
Chapter 1 “Introduction” provides an overview of the T10000 tape drive and its data cartridges.
Chapter 3 “Operator Tasks” describes the operator job functions associated with the T10000 tape drive
and provides information about the data cartridges.
Chapter 2 “Rack Mount Controls and Indicators” describes the controls and indicators on the T10000
tape drive’s front and rear panels.
Chapter 4 “Menu System” describes use and navigation of the T10000 tape drive’s menu system.
Chapter “Service Calls and Help” describes where an operator can get help and how to place a
service call.
Appendix A “Cartridge Care” details care of the data cartridges.
Appendix B “Data Cartridge Labels” has the specifications for the various labels used on the data
cartridges.
Appendix C “Initial Drive Configuration Settings” describes the settings configured on the T10000 tape
drive at the factory.
Appendix D “Messages and Translated Messages” lists messages that might be displayed by the tape
drive and their meaning. This appendix also lists the translated displays for various
languages.
Appendix E “Specifications” lists the physical and environmental specifications for the tape drive.
Glossary “Glossary” defines some terms and abbreviations used in this guide.
