5. Close the system door.

Avoiding Electrostatic Discharge
Use the following procedure to prevent static damage whenever you are accessing
any of the internal components of the system.
You must have the following items:
■
Antistatic wrist or foot strap
■
Antistatic mat (or the equivalent)
Caution –
Printed circuit boards and hard drives contain electronic components
that are extremely sensitive to static electricity. Ordinary amounts of static from your
clothes or the work environment can destroy components. Do
not
touch the
components or any metal parts without taking proper antistatic precautions.
1. Power off the system.

2. Remove the system from the rack.
The procedures for removing the system from the rack will vary, depending on the
type of rack mount kit that you are using. Refer to the

3. If you are servicing any internal components, remove the top cover.

4. Disconnect the AC or DC power cables.
