This type of fitting is used only with rigid plastic tubing. Usually no tools are required to make or break
connections.
To make a connection, insert the tubing end into the fitting and push firmly into place. The tubing must have
a clean square cut-off and not have any scratches in the first 1/2-inch section. An O-ring seals the fitting
body to the OD of the tubing, so make sure the outside surface of the tubing is in good condition. Reusing
the same tube in a fitting may require re-cutting the tubing to remove fitting-induced scratches.
To disconnect, push the collet toward the fitting (if necessary, use a 3/8-inch wrench to push the collet) and
then pull the tubing out. Collets and O-rings can easily be replaced when necessary. JG fittings used to
drain the Analyzer are 3/8-inch OD.; all others are 1/4-inch OD. Fittings work best when no stress is
applied to the tubing after assembly.
