Chapter 8: Maintenance
Removing the Existing Pump Tubing
1. If the Analyzer is performing a mode of operation, press the
STOP
key to stop the Analyzer.
2. Locate the sample pump near the middle of the Analyzer.
3. Place a paper towel directly under the sample pump to absorb any water left in the tubing.
4. From the
Main Menu
, press
SETUP
to access the
SETUP
menu.
5. Highlight
MAINTENANCE
and press
ENTER
.
6. Highlight
PUMP TUBING
and press
ENTER
.
7. Highlight
INSTALL TUBING
and press
ENTER
.
8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
9. Turn off the flow into the Analyzer by closing the valve on the source water line.
10. The tan rubber pump tubing is connected to barbs at each of the tubing ends. Carefully disconnect
the rubber tubing from the barbs.
11. Remove the long tubes (sample pump outlets) from the barbs on the vertical waste tube assembly.
12. Disconnect the short tubes (sample pump inlets) from the bulkhead barb fittings.
13. Press the
EJECT
key. The tubing will work its way through the pump in a counter clockwise
motion.
• If there is hesitation, gently aid the tubing through the pump by pulling on the ejected portion.
14. Press
STOP
on the front panel when the tubing is completely ejected.
15. Discard old tubing.
16. Press
NEXT
to continue.
Installing the New Pump Tubing
1. The new tubing is inserted on the right-hand side of the pump. Insert the two long tubes into the
rectangular hole near the bottom of the pump.
2. Press
LOAD
to load the tubing.
3. Press
STOP
when the tubing is completely loaded into the pump (i.e., when the clear plastic guard
on the tubing is flush with the sample pump).
4. Connect the tubing to the barbs. Connect the long tubes (sample pump outlets) to the barbs on the
vertical waste tube assembly. Connect the short tubes (sample pump inlets) to the 1/16-inch PEEK
tubes of the valve assembly and conductivity cell assembly.
5. Press
NEXT
to continue.
