Chapter 4: Basic Analyzer Operation
Figure 7: Boron Analysis Conductivity Profile
Overview of Analysis
The analysis cycle performs a zero measurement followed by a preselected number of sample
measurements (between 5 and 240, in increments of 5), with a zero measurement occurring after every
ten samples. However, in the case where the number of samples is not evenly divisible by 10, there will be
five measurements remaining after the last zero measurement’
Example: Sample measurements = 25; the Analyzer performs a zero measurement, takes 10 sample
measurements, performs a zero measurement, takes 10 sample measurements, performs a zero
measurement, then takes the last 5 sample measurements).
Data Output
There are two user-selectable options that affect the frequency at which the boron data is output: Individual
and Averaged. On multistream instruments, whichever option (Individual or Averaged) is selected applies to
ALL streams.
Individual Output
The boron value from each sample measurement in an analysis cycle is output. This option is the factory
default.
Averaged Output
No data is output until the first five sample measurements are complete. Then an average value is
calculated and output. This process is repeated for each five-sample measurement.
