Maintenance and service
Confirm that the AWD warning light is on.
Always use reliable blocks to prevent the
vehicle from moving. Never race the en-
gine or brake suddenly.
Engine hood
To open the hood:
1. If the wiper blades are lifted off the
windshield, return them to their original
positions.
2. Pull the hood release knob under the
instrument panel.
3. Release the secondary hood release
located under the front grille by moving
the lever toward the left.

The automatic transmission for the
turbo AWD vehicle, 3.0-liter AWD ve-
hicle and all models with Vehicle Dy-
namics Control can not be changed
over from AWD to FWD. If any main-
tenance or inspection requires a
running engine and all four wheels
turning with any of the above men-
tioned models, be sure to jack up all
four wheels or use free rollers.
