Translation of the original instruction
Keep any power tools that are not being used out of the
reach of children. Do not allow to use this power tool to
persons who are not familiar with it or who haven't read
these instructions. Power tools are dangerous in the
hands of untrained users.
Look after and maintain the tool with care.
Check to make sure that moving parts have been correctly
adjusted and look for signs of damage or any other con-
dition that may affect the power tool's operation. Have
damaged parts repaired before using the tool. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Service
Your power tool should only be repaired by a qualified
STORCH technician or a STORCH service partner (free
technology hotline in Germany only: 0800 – 78 67 247)
and only using original replacement parts. This will ensure
that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Specific safety rules
1. Keep your hands away from the rotating sanding head
at all times!
2. Prolonged inhaling of sanding dust will impair your
respiratory system: always use a vacuum cleaner with a
dust collection bag and air filter that are appropriate and
approved for the application at hand. Always wear a dust
mask that is appropriate for the application at hand.
3. Sanding LEAD-BASED paint is extremely toxic and
should not be attempted. Only allow specially trained pro-
fessionals to perform such tasks.
4. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times. Do
not overreach. Use proper scaffolding.
5. Always wear appropriate personal protection equip-
ment during work.
6. Important: After completing sanding, switch off the
switch and wait for the coasting sanding head to stop
completely before putting the tool down.
7. Never operate the tool in an area with flammable
solids, liquids, or gases. Sparks from the commutator/car-
bon brushes can cause a fire or explosion.
8. This tool was designed for specific applications. Any
modifications to the device are expressly prohibited.
9. Always hold the power tool with both hands. Loss of
control can cause personal injury.
10. Keep the power cord away from the tool's work area.
Always route the cable away behind you.
11. Immediately switch off the device if you notice any
unusual vibrations or other malfunctions. Check the
device.
12. The dust generated when working with this tool can
be harmful to health. Always connect the tool to a suita-
ble vacuum cleaner and wear a dust mask.
Functional description
This wall sander has been specially designed for the eco-
nomic and efficient sanding of walls (e.g. dry constructi-
on) in both new-build and renovation work.
It is designed to work in conjunction with a vacuum clea-
ner for minimum dust and best sanding results.
Electrical connection
The mains voltage must be 230 V / 50 Hz. Under no cir-
cumstances should the tool be used when the power sup-
ply cable is damaged. A damaged power cable must be
replaced immediately. Do not try to repair the damaged
power cord yourself. Use of damaged power cords can
lead to electric shock.
Extension cables
If an extension cable is required, it must have a sufficient
cross-section so as to prevent an excessive drop in voltage
or overheating of the device. An excessive drop in voltage
reduces the output and can lead to failure of the motor.
Unpacking
Carefully take out the tool and all loose items from the
shipping carton. Retain all packing materials until after
you have inspected and satisfactorily operated the machi-
ne.
DO NOT OPERATE THIS TOOL UNTIL YOU HAVE
READ THE ENTIRE INSTRUCTION MANUAL.
Inserting sandpaper
Unplug the appliance from the mains supply.
Remove the worn sandpaper, while leaving the hook-and-
loop sanding pad (foam pad) in place.
Carefully position the new sheet of sandpaper at the cen-
tre of the pad and press it into place. It will be held secu-
rely by the hook-and-loop backing.
