It is recommended that the cooked chestnuts be placed in an insulated container such as a bread
basket.
When using the griddle-plate it should first be very lightly coated with cooking oil or alternatively a
rasher of bacon first grilled. Avoid too much fat or oil, as there is a risk the fat may spit. The grilling of
fruit is not recommended as many fruit acids cause sticking.
Oiling is not necessary when using the plate for pancakes.
