flash. This should only illuminate on program peaks.
The input level control is now correctly adjusted.

18. Set Output Level Controls

The unity gain position (unity gain means the output level
is the same as the input level)on your crossover is at the "0"
point on the output level controls.
There is a detente at this point. In order to maintain proper
gain structure, you should place the output controls in this
detente or "0" position as a starting point. Further adjustment
may be necessary later.

19. Recheck Power Amplifier Connections

Before switching on your amplifiers, double check all your
input and speaker connections.
Once all connections have been verified, check to see that
your amplifier input level controls are still turned down. Now
switch on the power to all amplifiers.

20. Set Amplifier Input Level Controls

There is generally no need to set your amplifier level controls
to maximum unless the device feeding your power amplifier
does not have sufficient output gain to drive the amplifier to
full output power.
Your VC-23 or VC-34 has plenty of available output. When
testing your system, it is recommended that you keep your
amplifiers levels at a relatively low level until you have
confirmed correct system setup and balance.
This will avoid sudden bursts or transients that might be
harmful to your speakers.

21. Mute Switches

The mute switches on your crossover are a useful tool for
system setup. In the mono mode, VC-23 allows muting of the
sub bass, low and mid frequency outputs. The VC-34 allows
muting of the sub bass, low, low/mid and high/mid frequency
outputs. Utilizing these switches will allow you to confirm
that each speaker is functioning properly without changing
your output level settings and without having to walk up to
each speaker system to specifically listen to each driver. The
mute switch functions in the "in" position.

22. Balance Output Levels

Using your output level controls, you may want to fine tune
the balance between sub bass, lows, mids and highs on the
VC-23 and the sub bass, lows, low/mids high/mids and highs
on the VC-34. This process will involve subjective listening
on your part. While your output level controls should not
replace a graphic equalizer, you will find that some changing
of low, mid, high and subwoofer output levels can enhance
the overall balance of your system. Major equalization should
be reserved for your graphic equalizer.

23. Reset Amplifier Input Level Controls

Once you are satisfied with the balance of the whole audio
system, you are ready to bring the system up to operating

22. 출력 레벨 균형 맞추기

23. 앰프 입력 레벨 조절기 재설정

모든 오디오 시스템의 균형을 잡으셨다면, 이제 본격적인 동작모드

level. With your program material being fed to the crossover,
slowly turn your amplifiers up to achieve the maximum
necessary operating level or loudness or until the clip
indicators begin to flash, whichever is lower. As a starting
point, you may want to set the amplifier gain at the twelve
o'clock position.
Most peak or clip indicators on power amplifiers are showing
the status of the amplifier's output, not the input. Running
your amplifiers in a clipping condition could cause damage
to your speaker system and should always be avoided. Some
slight readjustment of the output level controls on the
crossover may be necessary at this time.

24. Recheck Gain Structure

As you have made changes to several level controls in the
system, now is a good time to recheck the gain or level
settings of all components in the system to be sure that an
adequate signal level is being fed to each device and that no
excessive clipping is present.
