Replacing and transporting the battery
Changing to a different battery type
The authorised service centre can convert the
truck to a different battery type and capacity.
Note the following points:
• The new battery capacity and new battery
type must be set in the display-operating
unit.
If this is not done, the actual battery dis-
charge status cannot be determined. The
battery charge level is not displayed cor-
rectly.
In the worst case, the battery may be
damaged by a deep discharge.
• When changing to TENSOR
®
batteries, the
maximum speed of the truck must be limited
to 17 km/h for technical reasons
• When changing to lithium-ion batteries,
additional courses of action are required;
see the section entitled "Converting to
lithium-ion batteries"
– Contact the authorised service centre
regarding this matter.
Converting to lithium-ion batteries
If the truck is fitted with a lead-acid battery at
the factory, the truck can be converted to a
lithium-ion battery. The conversion must be
performed by the authorised service centre.
The lithium-ion battery is housed in a tray of
size 234.
A changeover kit is required for trucks with
battery trays of size 235.
Two alternatives are possible here:
1
The changeover kit was ordered when
the truck was purchased.
In this case, the changeover kit will have
been delivered with the truck when it left
the factory.
2 The changeover kit has not yet been
ordered.
In this case, the authorised service centre
must order the changeover kit.
