Duties of the operating company
The operating company is the natural or legal
person or group who uses the truck or on
whose authority the truck is used.
The operating company must ensure that the
truck is only used for its intended purpose and
in compliance with the safety regulations in
these operating instructions and the operating
instructions for the series-production truck.
The operating company must ensure that all
users read and understand the safety informa-
tion in these operating instructions and in the
operating instructions for the series-production
truck. Both sets of operating instructions must
be accessible to the truck operator at all times.
The operating company is responsible for
scheduling and correctly performing regular
safety inspections, including safety inspec-
tions on the components used for
Assis-
tance
mode.
The requirements for the operating company
—as well as the rights, duties and rules of be-
haviour of the operating company—as descri-
bed in the operating instructions of the series-
production truck, also apply to trucks with the
additional
Assistance
mode of operation.
In addition, the following provisions apply:

As part of safety training, the operating
company must instruct the operator on how
to handle the truck in
Assistance
mode.
This information applies in particular for the
different methods of handling the truck in
the
Manual
and
Assistance
modes of
operation

The operating company must instruct all af-
fected personnel in the safe handling of a
truck in
Assistance
mode
●
The operating company is responsible for
ensuring the safe condition of roadways
and ground conditions (refer to the chapter
entitled "Roadways")
●
The operating company must ensure that
the truck is only operated by persons who
have been trained in the handling of
