Description
The electric pallet trucks EXU 16, EXU 18,
EXU 20 and EXU 22 are designed to handle
pallets or containers.
Their small volume, their ease of driving and
their performance make them very appropriate
for loading and unloading operations.
The range of these trucks covers capacities of
1600, 1800, 2000 and 2200 kg.
Drive
Drive is provided by a 1.2 kW asynchronous
traction motor.
The motor unit is driven by the truck controller,
which incorporates the transistor speed con-
troller.
This controller offers excellent performance
and enables optimum control of speed, accel-
eration and counter-current braking.
The power supply to the traction motor is con-
trolled by an electronic controller with micro-
processor, which provides complete control of
speed, acceleration and braking.
Steering
A long, robust, ergonomic tiller allows the op-
erator to direct the drive/steering wheel effort-
lessly.
The various controls: forward travel, reverse
travel, lifting and lowering of the load arms,
and the horn are grouped together at the end
of the tiller.
For safety reasons a gas spring automatically
returns the tiller to the upper position when it
is released.
The speed of the truck is limited to 6 km/h in
both directions of travel (key in the Hare posi-
tion).
The speed of the truck is limited to 4 km/h in
both directions of travel (key in the Tortoise
position).
Batteries
Power is supplied by either:

A lead battery
–
A gel battery
–
Or a lithium-ion battery (the truck therefore
has specific characteristics).
The types of battery removal that are available
are as follows:

Vertical access (Types BS, 2Pzs, 3Pzs)
●
Side access on rollers (Types 2PzS and
3PzS). This system allows the battery to be
changed quickly.
Braking system

counter-current, upon accelerator release
●
counter-current, by switching the direction
of travel
●
counter-current, controlled by rear safety in-
verter switch
●
electromagnetic safety, controlled by the
emergency stop handle
●
electromagnetic safety, controlled by the
upper or lower position of the tiller
●
electromagnetic parking, applied when sup-
ply is cut.
Stabilisers
The 5-point chassis has 2 suspended stabilis-
ers which compensate for ground irregulari-
ties.
