Maintenance personnel for batteries
Batteries must only be charged, serviced, and
replaced by personnel who have received ap-
propriate training in accordance with the in-
structions from the manufacturers of the bat-
tery, battery charger and truck.
●
◾Follow the handling instructions for the
battery and the operating instructions for
the battery charger.
Maintenance work without special quali-
fications
Simple maintenance work, such as checking
the hydraulic oil level, may be carried out by
untrained personnel. A qualification of the type
held by a competent person is not required to
carry out this work. The required tasks are de-
scribed in the chapter entitled Preserving op-
erational readiness.
Information for carrying out mainte-
nance
This section contains all information required
to determine when the truck needs mainte-
nance. Maintenance must be carried out with-
in the time limits according to the hour meter
and by following the maintenance check lists.
This is the only way to ensure that the truck
remains ready for operation and provides opti-
mal performance and service life. It is also a
precondition for any warranty claims.
Maintenance timeframe
●
The maintenance check lists indicate the
maintenance work that is due.
●
Carry out maintenance work on the truck
based on the hour meter.
The following factors may necessitate shorter
maintenance intervals:
●
Dirty, poor quality roadways
●
Dusty or salty air
●
High levels of air humidity
●
Extremely high or low ambient tempera-
tures, or extreme changes in temperature
●
Multi-shift operation with a high duty cycle
●
Specific national regulations for the truck or
individual components
Lifting and jacking equipment
WARNING
The battery connector must be disconnected before
the industrial truck is jacked up.
WARNING
Make sure that the industrial truck is only jacked up
on level surfaces, and is secured against rolling and
dropping.
When lifting the truck, the lifting device can
only be installed on the fixed positions as
specified.
When jacking up the truck, appropriate tools
or equipment such as chocks and wooden
blocks must be used to secure the truck and
prevent it from accidentally rolling or tipping
over.
When working under a raised load-bearing
component, sufficiently strong chains or safety
devices must be used to secure the fork arms.
Working on the electrical system
Work on the electrical system must be carried
out by professionally trained electricians.
Before commencing work, the operator must
take all necessary measures to prevent elec-
trical accidents.
If the truck is powered by a battery, the key
switch must also be removed to prevent the
truck from being accidentally started.
Parameter regulations
When repairing and replacing hydraulics, elec-
tronics and electrical components, you must
pay special attention to comply with the truck's
relevant parameter regulations.
Truck tyres
The quality of the tyres directly affects the sta-
bility and driving performance of the truck. If
you need to replace the tyres that were instal-
led in the factory, you must use original
