Handling trailers
Approved towing applications
NOTE
The truck can be used to tow trailers. For this
purpose it is provided with a trailer coupling.
Maximum towed weight
The rated drawbar pull for towing corresponds
to the nominal drawbar pull stated on the
vehicle identification plate of the tractor. The
maximum drawbar pull is the maximum force
of the tractor needed to overcome the starting
resistance of the trailing load (combined
weight of tractor, trailer and load).
CAUTION
In respect to trailing loads behind the tractor it must
be noted that under difficult operating conditions, for
example, on ramps, on icy or slippery pavement, it
is the braking power and NOT the maximum tractive
force of the tractor that determines the maximum
load for the safe use of the vehicle.
CAUTION
The admissible maximum loads applies only for
the towing (unbraked) on level ground lower limit.
When towing uphill or downhill, reduce the maxi-
mum load capacity.
Loading and unloading on downslopes or upslopes
is not allowed. The trailer must be suitable for the
laden load. The load must be distributed evenly and
connected as specified.
Please advise the manufacturer of your
operating conditions. He will then supply the
appropriate information.
• Do not hook the tractor to rail mounted
vehicles.
• Do not push trailers (any type).
