Connecting and disconnecting the battery male connector
Connecting the battery male con-
nector
DANGER
Risk of explosion!
Working on a truck within potentially ex-
plosive areas can lead to explosions in
the surrounding atmosphere.
No work must be performed on the truck
in potentially explosive areas!
–
Connect battery male connectors only
outside of potentially explosive areas.
CAUTION
Potential for damage to the battery male connector!
If the battery male connector is connected while the
truck is switched on (under load), a transition spark
will be produced. This transition spark can damage
the contacts and considerably shorten the service life
of the contacts.
–
Do not connect the battery male connector with
the truck switched on.
–
Make sure that the truck is switched off before
connecting the battery male connector.
CAUTION
There is a risk of short circuit if the ca-
bles are damaged.
Do not crush the battery cable when
closing the battery door.
–
Ensure that the battery cable does
not come into contact with the battery
door.
