STIHL power tool models with the letter
T in their designations have a split drive
shaft for compact transportation.
Disconnecting the Drive Tube
N
Unhook the shoulder strap from the
carrying ring.
N
Place the machine on the ground so
that it rests on the machine support
and gearbox or the tines,
N
Loosen the wing screw (1) – do not
remove it.
N
Pull the front drive tube (2) out of the
coupling sleeve (3).
N
Fit the cap (4) on the end of the front
drive tube.
NOTICE
Make sure the ends of the drive tube are
clean.
Connecting the Drive Tube
N
Pull the cap off the front drive tube
and keep it in a safe place.
N
Put the powerhead on the ground so
that it rests on the machine support.
N
Examine ends of drive tube for dirt
and clean them if necessary.
N
Push the lug (5) on the front drive
tube (2) into the slot (6) in the
coupling sleeve as far as stop.
When correctly installed, the red line (7)
(arrow point) must be flush with the end
of the coupling sleeve.
N
Tighten down the wing screw (1)
firmly.
N
Attach shoulder strap to the carrying
ring.
