Remedying Cordless Product, Double-battery Compartment or Battery
Faults

The cordless pro‐
duct does not
start when swit‐
ched on or swit‐
ches off during
operation.
1 LED flashes
green.
The battery charge
state is too low.
► Charge the battery as described in the
instruction manual for the STIHL AL 101,
300, 500 charger.
1 LED illumi‐
nates red.
The battery is too
warm or too cold.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm
up.
3 LEDs flash
red.
There is a fault in the
cordless product.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts of the
double-battery compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► Switch on the cordless product.
► If 3 LEDs still flash red: consult a STIHL
specialist dealer.
3 LEDs illumi‐
nate red.
The cordless product
is overheated.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the cordless product to cool down.
The electrical connec‐
tion between the cord‐
less product and bat‐
tery has been inter‐
rupted.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean the electrical contacts of the
double-battery compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► If the cordless product still does not start
when switched on or still switches off
during operation: clean the contact surfa‐
ces of the double-battery compartment.
The cordless product
or battery are damp.
► Allow the cordless product or battery to
dry.
The battery is over‐
heated.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down.
The cordless pro‐
duct operating
time is too short.
The battery is not fully
charged.
► Charge the battery fully as described in
the instruction manual for the
STIHL AL 101, 300, 500 charger.
The battery service
life has been excee‐
ded.
► Replace the battery.
